Temperature Extremes
AMSOIL Severe Gear EP Gear Lube excels in hot and cold temperature extremes. By design, it resists breakdown from high heat, preventing acids and carbon/varnish formation. Its wax-free construction also improves cold-flow properties, improving fuel economy and cold-weather shifting.

Applications

How do AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants Maximize Fuel Economy?

Motor oil, whether conventional or synthetic, consists of base oils and additives. The goal when manufacturing base oils is a molecularly uniform, pure substance. Inconsistencies and impurities in base oils limit the finished product’s performance, including fuel economy. The base oils used in conventional oils are refined from crude oil pumped from within the earth, which contains molecules of different sizes and weights. Conventional oils’ inconsistent molecular structure requires more energy to circulate throughout your engine, reducing fuel economy. The synthetic base oils used to formulate AMSOIL synthetic lubricants, on the other hand, are manufactured using a process that produces base oils of a uniform molecular structure. AMSOIL Slip Lock

AMSOIL Slip Lock® Differential Additive (ADA) is formulated with advanced friction modifiers and is designed to eliminate gear-housing chatter in cars, trucks and SUVs equipped with clutch-type limited-slip differentials.

AMSOIL Slip Lock Differential Additive is formulated for use with both synthetic and petroleum gear lubricants and safely replaces manufacturer-recommended friction modifiers. Its convenient squeeze-tube packaging provides quick and easy application to the gear housing. One four-ounce tube of Slip Lock treats differential capacities of two to four quarts. It is not for use in automatic transmissions or other applications requiring automatic transmission fluid.

NOTE: AMSOIL synthetic gear lubes do not require this additive. However, not all differentials respond the same and the addition of AMSOIL Slip Lock will eliminate chatter in mechanically sound differentials.
