Midwest Synthetic AMSOIL Dealer

Ready for the benefits of Synthetic lubricants?

I've used several different stratgies when converting newly acquired equipment to Synthetic oil. Not everyone will want to just dive right in with extended oil changes. On a high milage vehicle I've used flush and AMSOIL XL before fully cutting over to Signature Series and Ea filters. Of course, you can just change the oil too. You don't have to do anything special. Synthetic oils won't cause any problems that weren't already there.

Oil Analysis and AMSOIL's top of the Line Signature Series.

AMSOIL's recommended Signature Series service life is 12 months, 700 hours or 15,000 miles in severe service. Up to 25,000 miles in non-severe service. Jumping right in with Signature Series and pulling a sample after about 9 months will tell how your oil is holding up and you can make the desision to change it soon or continue based on results. Oil analysis also includes wear metals and contaminents and provides some information of what all the data means. Since I'm already using AMSOIL Signature Series in several vehicles, starting any newly acquired vehicles on Signature Series simplifies the material inventory. And of course, I want to use the very best in my own vehicles.

Converting to Synthetic with AMSOIL XL and FLUSH!

Converting to AMSOIL Signature Series oil with a once a year oil change schedule can be a big step for some. One strategy I’ve used is to run a case of XL through first, then cutover to Signature Series. In this instance I had a recently acquired Jeep with over 100K miles on the clock. To get off to a good start AMSOIL Engine and Transmission flush was used at the first change. A case of XL and a couple Wix filters was enough for two oil changes. It is now running Signatures series with an Ea filter. With AMSOIL Synthetic, the engine engine is cleaner and lifter noise has been noticeably reduced. And now cut over to Signature series it won’t need an oil change for another year.

OE oils for OEM change intervals

AMSOIL’s OE line of oil is a great product for those looking to convert to synthetic oils but not ready to extend the drain intervals. It’s also a great way for those ready to switch to a once a year oil change, but are looking for a different season to change the oil in. When I first switched my F150 to AMSOIL it was early March with temps below zero. Not looking for a repeat date and temp a year later, I installed OE which shifted my annual oil change to late summer, starting an annual oil change interval with Signature Series oil and EA filter.

6 Reasons to change your motor oil

AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush

AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush (FLSH) helps restore fuel economy, increase operating efficiency and reduce emissions in gasoline and diesel engines, and automatic transmissions. Its potent, detergent-based formula cleans sludge and deposit build-up, promoting reduced oil consumption. AMSOIL Engine and Transmission Flush is safe on parts and can be easily disposed of with waste oil. Restores Vehicles to Like-New New engines and transmissions run more efficiently, but over time they gather harmful deposits that cause power and performance loss. Stop-and-go driving, prolonged idling, short trips that do not allow the engine to reach full operating temperature, towing, the ingestion of air-borne dirt, fuel dilution, water condensation and oxidized oil all can promote sludge build-up in motor oil and transmission fluid. As it settles, sludge clogs narrow oil passages, restricting oil flow to vital parts, especially the upper valve train area. In transmissions, deposits can form on clutch plates, causing hesitation and erratic shifting. Ultimately clutch glazing can set in, reducing the life of the transmission. Deposits in engines and transmissions can accelerate wear, causing power loss and increased fuel consumption.

  • Prepares engines and transmissions for new oil

OIL ANALYSIS

Monitor your engine and lubricant with Oil Analysis

Oil Analysis is a great tool to use when switching to extend drain intervals. In addition to letting you know how your oil is doing, oil analysis will show specific wear metals and other contaminates. Oil Analyzers kits are available from AMSOIL. They come with a bottle, form for equipment info and instructions for processing.
